What to expect
Umling La — World's Highest Motorable Pass is a fully supported group expedition from Leh to Leh, Ladakh, run by riders who have done this route many times over. You ride your own motorcycle or take one of ours; either way a backup vehicle follows the group with a mechanic, spares, fuel and your luggage. Night halts, permits and meals are arranged in advance so you can focus on the road. This is a demanding high-altitude route with long saddle days and passes above 5,000 m — a valid motorcycle licence, prior long-distance experience and medical fitness are mandatory.
What you'll do, step by step
Report at the Leh start point for licence and permit checks, bike allotment, gear fitting and the ride briefing. Flag-off after breakfast.
Long highway stretches with the backup vehicle sweeping behind. Fuel stops roughly every 150 km, dhaba lunches, and night halts booked ahead.
A planned rest day to acclimatise, service the bikes and let the group recover before the hardest sections.
