What to expect
Srinagar to Leh via Kargil is a fully supported group expedition from Srinagar to Leh, Ladakh, run by riders who have done this route many times over. You ride your own motorcycle or take one of ours; either way a backup vehicle follows the group with a mechanic, spares, fuel and your luggage. Night halts, permits and meals are arranged in advance so you can focus on the road. Expect long riding days, ghat sections and changeable weather. A valid motorcycle licence and some long-distance experience are required.
What you'll do, step by step
Report at the Srinagar start point for licence and permit checks, bike allotment, gear fitting and the ride briefing. Flag-off after breakfast.
Long highway stretches with the backup vehicle sweeping behind. Fuel stops roughly every 150 km, dhaba lunches, and night halts booked ahead.
A planned rest day to acclimatise, service the bikes and let the group recover before the hardest sections.

Twenty-one days on the road and the support crew never missed a beat. Backup vehicle always in sight, mechanic sorted two punctures and a clutch cable without fuss. Worth every rupee.
Rode pillion the whole way and was looked after brilliantly. Night halts were clean and booked in advance, and the road captain kept the group tight through the ghats.
