What to expect
Chennai to Pondicherry ECR Day Ride is a fully supported group expedition from Chennai to Pondicherry, run by riders who have done this route many times over. You ride your own motorcycle or take one of ours; either way a backup vehicle follows the group with a mechanic, spares, fuel and your luggage. Night halts, permits and meals are arranged in advance so you can focus on the road. Beginner-friendly — a valid motorcycle licence is all you need.
What you'll do, step by step
Assemble at the Chennai start point for licence checks, bike allotment, gear fitting and the safety briefing.
The main ride out towards Pondicherry, with the road captain leading and a sweeper at the back.
Tea, a proper meal and a photo stop before the return leg.
Ride back to the start point, hand over the motorcycle and gear, and debrief.

Luggage went in the backup vehicle so we rode light, and it was waiting at every hotel. Small thing, but it changes the whole trip.
Crossed passes I'd only seen in videos. The crew checked tyre pressure and chain slack every morning before we rolled out. Properly professional outfit.
